View this email in your browser PA CHEP Updates Late February 2026 Teaching in Prison: Pedagogy, Practice, and Purpose February 27, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM via Zoom Limited spots still available PA CHEP, in collaboration with The Inside-Out Center and Penn State University, is hosting a small, discussion-based virtual workshop focused on teaching in prison contexts. Facilitated by formerly incarcerated students from The Inside-Out Center, the workshop will explore ethical, relational, and pedagogical practice in prison classrooms. It is designed for both current instructors and those preparing to teach in higher-education-in-prison settings. There is no cost to attend. Please register only if you are able to participate for the full day. Register Here Upcoming Event: Supporting HEP Students with Disabilities in PA March 3, 9:00 AM–10:30 AM via Zoom Presented by Jenifer Montag and Penn State’s Restorative Justice Initiative This session will invite participants to learn about best practices related to disability and prison education. Jenifer Montag will present, with the session geared toward the Pennsylvania context. Join via Zoom Questions about the session can be directed to Liana Cole at liana.cole@psu.edu. Steering Committee Applications Applications to join the PA CHEP Steering Committee remain open through Friday, March 6, 2026. The Steering Committee plays a central role in guiding PA CHEP’s work and supporting collaboration across higher education in prison, reentry education, policy, and related fields. Applications are welcome from individuals with a wide range of professional and lived experience connections to this work. Apply to the Steering Committee Note: Those who submitted a Steering Committee application in person at the 2026 Annual Convening do not need to submit a second application online.
